Mobile Commerce Insights for Retailers

Consumer behaviours towards purchasing have changed. A decade ago, the idea of online purchases coming predominantly through mobile would have probably been met with skepticism, but the reality is that mobile is continuing to dominate with some even going as far as to say that the future of eCommerce lies solely in mobile. A study by the Mobile Marketing Association in May 2010 revealed that during that year only 6% of consumers purchased products or services via mobile, and only 6.5% of retailers offered mCommerce sites. However, when we fast forward to September 2016, retailers are seeing up to 50% of sales coming through mobile – a significant increase, and one which is continuing to rise.
