U.S. Retail Sales See A Modest Increase

Reuters has reported that in September, the U.S. saw the biggest drop in spending at restaurants and bars in nearly two years. Retail sales still managed to rise in September, though barely, thanks to a rebound in motor vehicle purchases. This is all according to a report from the Commerce Department released on Monday that suggested that consumer spending ended the third quarter with strong momentum. Consumer spending accounts for more than two thirds of U.S. economic activity.
