Star Offers New Serial Cable Adaptor Connects Star Scanners
Star Micronics, a prominent manufacturer of point-of-sale (POS), mobile, and customer engagement technologies, is now providing a serial cable adaptor for select models of the company’s 2D barcode scanner line. This cable adaptor enables business owners and retailers who use PCs as part of their POS systems benefit from all the same advantages and capabilities as Star scanners.

The RS-232 standard is still widely used in computer serial ports and industrial communication devices due to its simplicity. Catering to the customer's needs, Star has made it simple for users of legacy POS systems to connect with Star's desktop and handheld wired scanner models.

IP-rated scanners from Star are available in desktop, handheld, and wireless handheld models with applications in industries such as retail, warehouse, hospitality, shipping, and more. The scanners are designed to be sturdy and drop-resistant (up to 1.2m), with powerful CPUs to boost productivity and efficiency. In addition, Star's economical solutions allow users to get high-performance 2D barcode scanners at the price of 1D.
The latest serial cable kit currently works for Star's BSD-FR4080 high-resolution desktop scanner and BSH-HR2081 handheld USB wired scanner.
