Greensboro apparel company sells hurricane relief T-shirt

A local apparel company is helping out with Hurricane Florence relief through a special T-shirt sale.Simply Southern Tees, which manufactures Southern-theme lifestyle apparel such as T-shirts, dresses and accessories, created a hurricane relief T-shirt.The shirt, sporting a design of pink turtles swimming in the ocean, reads 'Together We Will Rise Above the Waters.'"In an effort to support people who were affected by the hurricane, we decided to print a shirt for which the proceeds are going to the Red Cross," said Gregory Gooden, the national sales manager for Simply Southern.Last year, the company did a similar T-shirt for Hurricane Harvey and raised $83,000.Gooden said more than $55,000 had been raised for Florence relief. It will be donated to the American Red Cross on Oct. 16.
